Day 8…Munich - Octoberfest!

We actually, surprisingly didn’t plan our trip around Octoberfest, it just turned out we got lucky! What I didn’t know about Octoberfest is that it is FREE to enter. Anyone at any age can walk into this event. We actually saw a ton of kids and schools there during the day while we were there. This was also a surprise to me. I didn’t realize they would have a ton of rides for kids and games to play. Because I didn’t know this, I bought $200/ticket from a guided tour online prior to arriving to Germany. The tickets gave us 2 large beers, 1 meal and a Ferris wheel ride. It also allowed us to have a seat inside one of the tents for 4 hours from 12-4 pm. But honestly that early during the day, the tents weren’t that crowded so we could have sat without those tickets. My recommendation is to NOT buy a guided ticket and just explore on your own. There are 17 large tents and we only went inside 2 of them because we were tied to one with our tickets, which was a little bit of a disappointment because each of the tents have their own vibes and style and it would have been cool to experience different tents. So learn from me and just go and explore different tents and wing it, you will be much happier!!

Unfortunately, this outfit garnered some unwelcomed attention from a lot of strangers, like this one here in the picture.

This is one of the large tents we did not go into. Each tent serves their own beer, so this one only served Paulaner beer.

The waitresses were amazing at holding multiple beers at once. And these things were no joke, they were heavy holding 34 oz which is almost 3 beers worth!

So much beer, so little time!

This was our second tent as you can we are starting to go downhill at this point. I don’t remember too much about this tent!!

This lady said she could draw anything on our faces and of course my husband asked for the “Mike Tyson” look. Hmmmm…why not?

This trip really was amazing. When you have limited time and you want to see a few different countries, I truly believe this trip is for you. You could move things around or take some cities out or stay longer at each place and make it fit your specific needs. Please check out the pdf in the store for more info! I’m always up for feedback or suggestions as well. The point is to inspire you to get out there and explore and live! Thanks for visiting:)
