Crested Butte, CO

Honestly, I rave about a lot of cities, but Crested Butte is truly one of the most beautiful, livable cities in the US!! I mean this place looks like a postcard in every direction.

So if you enjoy mountain biking I was able to ride the 401 trail - https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/338027/401-trail-loop which is a 14 mile ride in the beautiful alpine meadows and unbelievable views! I was NOT a good biker when I rode this trail so I was a bit nervous, but it was definitely doable and not as scary as I thought. I didn’t fall is the basic of that story.

The hike above was the Lower Loop Trailhead, it was maybe a mile hike before we reached the river, so very easy and doable for the kids. We just turned around after the kids played in the river for a bit.

This is Lake Irwin where we took the paddleboards up to this gorgeous lake. You can rent paddleboards right in downtown as we forgot a pump and had to rent a paddleboard pump from them. You also can raft the Slate River that runs through Crested Butte, we did not do that but you always need to save something for that next trip, right?

This is showing everything that goes into the RV lifestyle! This is definitely not Instagram perfect, however it is the truth. We had to put the pack and play up and pack it down every morning and night. Not to mention put the table back together that is laying underneath the pack and play and put the blankets away (nicely) in the corners and turn the pull out couch back into a normal couch just so we have room to walk and live!! It is a small area in this 27 foot RV with a family of 5 and you really start to feel it after a few weeks!

However, moments of peace like this make it all worthwhile. My husband on a trail in Gunnison National Forest. You really can’t beat the beauty of Crested Butte.

The downtown I have to say was a tad unimpressive. I mean, it was cute in its own right, however there wasn’t any standout places you felt like you HAD to check out. I would say they were all cute and mountain-ish in their own right. But we will definitely be back to this gorgeous town as it has water and mountains and all the beauty in between!

Good bye from Crested Butte! Thanks for reading and feel free to reach out!
